Dr. David Arcella

Dr. David J. Arcella is a Harvard trained Interventional Pain Management Specialist. Originally from California, Dr. Arcella earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. He attended medical school at Ross University and traveled to New England to complete his medical residency training in Anesthesiology at the University of Massachusetts. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Pain Medicine at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He also has experience at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and the VA Medical Center.

Dr. Arcella has contributed to research in opioid alternative medications and medication-free pain management options, as well as surgical anesthesia techniques to minimize the incidence of chronic pain. He believes in creating a collaborative care plan with his patients and customizing treatments to each patient’s individual goals.

Dr. Arcella is double board-certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and of Pain Medicine. He was previously a member of the Massachusetts Society of Anesthesia Opioid Task Force, a group focused on coordinating efforts within organized medicine to help end the nation’s opioid epidemic, and is currently a member of several of pain medicine’s major professional associations including the North American Neuromodulation Society and the Spine Intervention Society.
